This is a historic moment every Gambian has been yarning for, to have our country’s first lady in our communities to give support and care to the people. Today the 7th May 2017, Her Excellency the first lady Madam Fatou Bah Barrow through her foundation, Fatou Bah Barrow Foundation – FaBB Foundation has done it again by going round the schools to kindly donate Ramadan gifts. A total number of schools visited are ten and each of these schools has a roll of between 100 to 500 pupil boys and girls. All the ten schools visited each of them has benefited five bags of rice, two bags of sugar, one carton of tea bags and one carton of dates.
It has been an overwhelming joy in the beneficiary schools not only by the gifts but the presence of Her Excellency in their schools, within their midst and taking photos really touched their hearts deeply. Among the beneficiaries are Dara tul Aisha of Old Jeshwang, Taiba tul Taiba Center at Busumbala, Dara tul Sabri Wal Iman at Bakau, Madarass tul Dara Arkham at sinchu Alagie, Dara tul Fandeh Kunda at Sukuta.
The welcoming of the first lady and her entourage in all this schools are exceptionally beautiful. Boys and girls dress neatly and line up with their teachers and care givers to sing Islamic songs to show their appreciation of her visit. Every school showcases their talent by choosing three pupils to recite from the Holy Quran. Masha Allah It was really amazing how these young boys and girls memorize and string out verses without any hesitation.
